Balance and Dizziness Program

Holy Name’s physical therapists have advanced training in vestibular and balance dysfunction and offer comprehensive evaluations and treatments to improve function and prevent falls. Individualized exercise programs are created to promote central nervous system compensation for inner ear deficits in people with vertigo, dizziness and imbalance.

This program is designed to help patients with, among others, the following disorders:

  • Vertigo
  • Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) – dizziness
  • Head trauma
  • Stroke/CVA
  • Inner ear dysfunction
  • Imbalance
  • Double or blurry vision
  • Vestibular neuronitis
  • Meniere’s syndrome
  • History of falls

Cancer Survivorship Rehabilitation

Highly-trained therapists design exercise programs to assist patients recovering from cancer surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation and may be experiencing weakness, balance problems, or frozen shoulder syndrome from breast cancer treatment.

Foot and Ankle Therapy

Patients are evaluated and treated by physical therapists experienced with pain and/or dysfunction of the foot and ankle. This therapy is designed to bring patients with foot and ankle conditions to their maximum level of physical activity and function.

Multiple Sclerosis Rehabilitation

Skilled therapists and speech pathologists work closely with Holy Name’s Multiple Sclerosis Center to provide individualized therapy, services, and abilities assessments for patients with MS.

Spine Therapy

Holy Name’s Spine Therapy Program is targeted for individuals with a back injury resulting in pain and decreased motion, function and strength. Physical therapy can reduce back pain by helping to correct poor movement patterns, strengthening muscles that support the spine, and instructing patients on proper posture and the role of body mechanics in injuries and recovery.

Sports/Orthopedic Therapy

Highly-skilled therapists design exercise programs that help patients expand movement, relieve pain and improve function for a quicker return to sporting activities while reducing the risk of re-injury.

Stroke Rehabilitation

Patients recovering from a stroke may need several types of rehabilitation specialists. Holy Name Medical Center, licensed by the state as a Primary Stroke Center, takes a comprehensive multi-disciplinary approach to recovery that encompasses physical, occupational and speech therapies.
