The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) is required for all applicants to the School.
The TEAS exam is NOT offered at Holy Name Medical Center School of Nursing. Please visit ATI website at www.atitesting.com to find an institution or PSI center close to your area that offers the TEAS.
The required TEAS must have four parts of multiple-choice questions covering the following:
NOTE: Please make sure the test contains all four components.
The test takes approximately 3 1/2 hours. Candidates for Holy Name Medical Center School of Practical Nursing who do not meet test criteria for entrance, may repeat the exam in one year.
- Reading - comprehension and inferences/conclusions (40 items, 50 minutes)
- Math - whole numbers, metric conversion, fractions; decimals, algebraic equations, percentages, and ratio/proportion (45 items, 56 minutes)
- Science - science reasoning and knowledge, biology, chemistry, anatomy, physiology, basic physical principles and general science (30 items, 38 minutes)
- English and Language Usage - punctuation, grammar, sentence structure, contextual words, and spelling (55 items, 65 minutes)

Once you submit your online application, you will have 30 days to send your official TEAS results and official transcripts of all schools attended (high school, colleges and technical schools).
NOTE: In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, the School of Practical Nursing will make reasonable accommodations for students with learning disabilities.
