| Primary Duties |
Organizes and conducts Physical Therapy programs for individuals referred by a physician to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury or loss of body part. Helps patient reach maximum performance within their disabilities. Treats patients of all ages with all types of disabilities and multiple medical problems. Performs other related or miscellaneous duties as directed by superiors. Evaluates and plans specific treatment programs upon the referral of a physician. Treats and documents progress of patients in a timely fashion; Evaluates the extent of the disability through pertinent chart findings and objective evaluation procedures; Administers therapeutic exercise directly; Teaches rehabilitation techniques to overcome disability through the use of supportive devices; Assists with discharge planning; Maintains and cares for all therapeutic equipment in all patient areas; Instructs other health professionals, support personnel and patient, families in proper safety and exercise programs; Coordinates schedule of assigned in-patients or out-patients; Maintains statistical reports as requested; Participates in a present in-service program as directed by Senior Education Therapist or Director of Rehabilitation Services. Performs at minimum 1 inservice per year for the department; Records treatment data and progress notes in the medical records. Reports on patient progress at rounds or other clinical team meetings; Assists in departmental marketing and educates medical and other hospital staff about services provided by physical therapy; Supervises affiliating students as per assignment of the Senior Education Physical Therapist. |

| Minimum Qualifications |
Bachelors or Masters of science Degree in Physical Therapy. New Jersey Licensed or eligible. Capable of frequent lifting and transferring of weight of to 300 pounds. |
