| Primary Duties |
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Lead Technologist is responsible for coordinating the activities, under the supervision of the Director of MRI services performing supervisory duties to include technical responsibilities. Activates equipment repairs and organizes the staffing and work progress within the MRI Department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Provides leadership and supervision of the technical staff to provide for the production of high quality MRI work.
2. Completes QC functions as assigned.
4. Reports and documents problems relating to staffing morale, work methods, and procedures for the personnel assigned to him/her in consultation with the Manager of MRI.
5. Monitors condition, care, and maintenance of MRI equipment. Provides for documentation of problems, response time of service organization, and completion of repair.
6. Ensures completions of “taken” status.
8. Provides new employee orientation of the department.
10. Adheres to prescribed standards of safety, participates in performance improvement and quality control program.
11. Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, qualify of care or the services delivered.
12. Demonstrates knowledge of the occurrence reporting system. Uses system to report potential patient safety issues.
13. Follows established guidelines for reporting a significant medical error or unanticipated outcome in the patient’s care which results in patient harm.
14. Attends in-service presentations and completes all mandatory education requirements.
16. Regular, punctual and dependable attendance.
17. Other duties as assigned.
