| Primary Duties |
Position Summary:
Primary responsibility for Pharmacy management of operations related to dispensing and clinical services provided by Pharmacy to outpatient units, such as Infusion Therapy, Radiology, Emergency Dept, Off Campus Physician offices, Clinic, Pain Management, etc.
Essential Functions of the Job:
1. Daily coordination of oncology and non-oncology infusion therapy from operational standpoint – liaison for procurement, registration and scheduling, dispensing, clinical activity, etc.
2. Daily coordination and project oversight for all other outpatient departments including floor stock management, procurement, scheduling, education and contact for all issues related to those departments.
3. Clinical support to Infusion Therapy Team (in coordination with Clinical Oncology Specialist) according to daily workflow, including but not limited to double check provision, coverage of Oncology Specialist, drug information requests. Provision of clinical support as related to all other Outpatient Department needs, including P&T presentation preparation, protocol development, drug information, education of staff.
4. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of departmental and hospital policies and procedures allowing for independent decision making and sound interpretation of same. Expertise in outpatient department medication management policies and procedures and operations requiring Pharmacy support.
5. Comprehensive knowledge and daily oversight of all aspects of outpatient operations specifically intra and extra departmental requirements thereby ensuring efficient through put, billing and reimbursement, required follow up and coordination of weekend support, order review, preparation and dispensing of chemo and infusion therapy medications.
6. Training responsibility (in coordination with Inpatient Manager) for new hires, both Pharmacist and Technician, related to areas of responsibility. Contribution to Competency assessment tools and Performance Evaluations.
7. Attendance and contributions to assigned meeting and teams, such as Oncology Committee, Quarterly Management Meetings, Department/Division meetings as needed, etc.
8. Manages assigned projects and tasks in a comprehensive and timely manner, with clear reporting of progress, obstacles and completion to the Director of Pharmacy.
9. Ongoing project management and compliance officer for Pharmaceutical Waste & USP 797
10. Maintenance and oversight of outpatient prescription program and processing.
11. Displays competence in all functions of the Staff Pharmacist (see Job Description). Provides comprehensive daily coverage of Staff Infusion Pharmacist for breaks and basic coverage for Oncology/Infusion Clinical Specialists as needed.

| Minimum Qualifications |
Education: Doctorate of Pharmacy or Masters preferred. B.S. with experience considered.
Skills Strong communication and project management
Experience Required: Oncology Residency or equivalent experience. Hospital Pharmacy experience 3+ years. Management/supervisor and project management experience strongly preferred.
Certification License to dispense Pharmaceuticals in the State of New Jersey
