Primary Duties -Assesses educational needs of staff in collaboration with nursing leadership using a variety of data sources. Provides education based on identified needs

-Facilitates the orientation of new staff to assigned units through collaboration and consultation with Unit Directors, Preceptors and other members of the healthcare team.

-Participates in hosptial wide educational activities.

-Develops annual competency assessment program with unit director.

-Identifies opportunities for evidence based practice and nursing research projects. Mentors staff to implement projects.

-Provides clinical support to staff

-Acts as a role model for professional nursing practice.

-Participates on nursing and hospital committees and task forces
