The Heartsaver training program is designed for non-healthcare workers who may need CPR/AED and/or First Aid certification. The CPR component of the program discusses chest compressions, rescue breathing, and choking management for patients of various ages. The program can be adult/child only, or be combined with infant CPR. The AED portion of the program discusses automated external defibrillation of patients, as well as device operations, application, and special circumstances.
First Aid can be taken separately or combined with the CPR/AED program. It discusses injuries such as bleeding control, broken bones, and burns. The program details the management of medical emergencies such as seizures and diabetic emergencies. It also discusses environmental emergencies such as poisoning, heat exhaustion and hypothermia.
Varies - 3 hours to 7 hours, depending on modules taken
Security guards, fitness trainers, coaches, corporate employees, daycare providers, heavy industry workers, electricians, and others who may have to perform CPR/First Aid or operate an AED.
