guest servicesAt Holy Name Hospital, we do our best to ensure your comfort and confidence by making our hospital a friendly, helpful and tranquil place. Our Guest Relations Program, whose primary objective is to enhance the patient/visitor experience, encourages a hospitality approach to everything we do. As part of that initiative, our staff members undertake customer service training throughout the year to ensure that our standards for guest satisfaction are met or exceeded.

While medical expertise and access to state-of-the-art tools and technology are the essential ingredients in quality healthcare, we hope the little extras you'll find at Holy Name will go a long way toward making you feel more at ease:

  • Wayfinding system – Our professionally engineered wayfinding system uses color, symbols and "street" addresses to help you navigate the hospital campus.
  • Nature-based decorating – We employ nature themes, soothing hues and uplifting art to create a healing environment.
  • Pyxis PatientStations – Bedside monitors with interactive computer allow you to search the Internet, receive and send emails, watch movies and TV, access pay-per-view shows, listen to music, and learn more about your medical condition.
  • Web-based video interpreting for sign language and foreign language – Holy Name is the first hospital in the nation to provide this service. Video conferencing significantly raises the quality of the interpretation by putting the patient at ease and allowing the interpreter to see the patient's eyes and body language in order to ascertain their comprehension. The service gives patients on-demand interpretation services whenever needed.
  • Patient Advocate – Our Patient Advocate can help you gain a better understanding of your diagnosis, assist you in contacting other hospital and/or outside resources, provide information on living wills and healthcare proxies, address issues and concerns related to your care, and facilitate communication between hospital representatives and you and/or your family.
  • At Your Request Room Service Dining – Patients can use their telephones to order from our enhanced room service menu anytime between 6:30 am to 6:30 pm. Menus are offered in various languages. Nutritious, appetizing and freshly-prepared meals are delivered when you choose, and if you like, you may order all the day's meals (with separate delivery times) at once. Patient favorites include grilled salmon, rainbow rotini with pesto sauce and hot from the oven pizza with a choice of up to seven toppings.  Family members may even make selections from home by calling 201-833-3663.  
  • Pager system for family members – Patient companions needn’t be confined to a particular area while waiting for word on loved ones in surgery. We’ll give them a beeper so they can stay in touch while using Holy Name’s facilities (such as the outdoor seating of our Patio Grill).
  • Concierge assistance – Staff at the Information Desk in our main lobby are happy to provide patients and families with contact information for local hotels, restaurants, car rentals, and other services.
  • Parking lot shuttle service – Our vehicle will take you from the parking lot to the hospital's main lobby or the Center for Health and Rehabilitation entrance.
