The BirthPlace

Amenities

AmenitiesBecause we know what women want,
we take a hospitality approach to patient care in our BirthPlace.

In The BirthPlace, all mother/baby suites are private, spacious and beautifully appointed with wood furnishings, residential-quality cabinetry and upholstery. Each room has a private bathroom with shower, refrigerator and a sofa chair that converts into a single bed. Many also have outdoor balconies. All the suites can accommodate Mom at every stage of her experience—labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum.

The BirthPlace’s philosophy of family-centered care supports a mother’s desire for closeness with her loved ones and the degree to which she’s comfortable caring for her baby during her stay. Set your own visiting hours for family and friends. Decide how much time your baby will spend with you in your suite. Extend an invitation for overnight accommodations to your birthing partner. For a nominal cost, you can even order an extra dinner for a special visitor. We want you to be happy and at ease.

Our PatientStation bedside technology system ensures that moms don’t feel cut off from the rest of the world. It allows you, among other things, to watch television, surf the Internet, order baby supplies online, view instructional videos, send email updates to family and friends, order meals off the room service menu, and call for your nurse. We make sure everyone in your life is introduced to baby—even if they live across an ocean—with our award-winning CyberNursery program.

Our certified breastfeeding consultant is available for advice and consultation free of charge to breastfeeding mothers who delivered at Holy Name.

Holy Name’s prenatal and postpartum education programs help to give baby a healthy start. We offer Lamaze Childbirth Preparation (English and Spanish), Sibling Preparation, Cesarean Birth Class, Breastfeeding Preparation and a New Moms Support Group, Baby Care Basics, Baby Massage, and Infant and Child CPR. During your stay at the hospital, BirthPlace nurses will provide in-room education on infant care, feeding and safety.

Our Warm Line, 201-833-3124, is your direct link to a Holy Name BirthPlace nurse where you can get answers about breastfeeding.
