The Department of Radiology at Holy Name Hospital performs more than 120,000 procedures annually and boasts state-of-the-art Interventional, MRI, Ultrasound, Cat Scan, Digital Radiography, Nuclear Medicine, Computerized Radiography, Mammography and Vascular Departments. Highlights include:
- The Interventional Institute which performs highly-specialized procedures such as radio-frequency ablation, chemo embolization, carotid stenting, uterine fibroid embolization and endovenous laser treatment of varicose veins.
- Cardiac PET stress testing to determine the presence and extent of heart disease. Holy Name is currently the first and only hospital in New Jersey performing this type of stress testing.
- The GE LightSpeed 64-slice CT scanner providing superior image quality and high-resolution studies, especially useful in the diagnosis of heart attack or stroke.
- A web-based Picture Archive and Communications System (PACS) that enables physicians to view, archive, and process high quality images at anytime and from anywhere. The highly-sophisticated system is also filmless and paperless, making it more effective and cost-efficient.
- Multi-modality fusion software that integrates any compatible image with PET/CT. This revolutionary technology is utilized with radiation planning systems to offer patients with cancer optimum diagnostic care in one package.
- Digital Mammography technology and bone density testing.
- MRI specifically for knees, ankles, feet, wrists and hands, offering an alternative to whole body scans.
- Clinical Trials that enable patients to take advantage of cutting-edge medical treatments.
The Department is led by Jacqueline Brunetti, MD, a world-renowned radiologist, and is staffed by board-certified radiologists, registered radiologic technologists, as well as specially-trained staff who have been cross-trained in various disciplines. When multiple tests are required, the department makes every effort to coordinate and perform exams during a single visit to the facility, enhancing the patient’s experience.
