Holy Name Hospital School of Nursing
Superior nursing care is a trademark of Holy Name Hospital, and many of our nurses are graduates of the Holy Name Hospital School of Nursing. The story of the school cannot be separated from the story of the hospital. Both were founded in 1925 with a dedication to fostering the well-being and dignity of all individuals, sick or well, a dedication that continues to this day.
The school opened with a class of 13 women. It has since grown to become one of the largest coeducational diploma schools in New Jersey sponsored by a Catholic health care institution.
The School of Nursing - Registered Nurse Program is a highly competitive registered nurse diploma program, affiliated with St. Peter's College in Jersey City, New Jersey. The program is accredited with the New Jersey Board of Nursing and the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. An optional A.A.S. degree in health sciences is also available through a collaborative agreement.
Please Note: The Registered Nurse program is no longer accepting applications for the 2008-2009 school year.
Since 1972 Holy Name Hospital has also sponsored a School of Nursing - Practical Nurse Program, a 12-month practical nurse diploma program accredited with the New Jersey Board of Nursing.
