RN Nurse Entrance Test (NET)

Nurse Entrance Test (NET)

The Nurse Entrance Test (NET) is required for all applicants to the School. It will be given at Holy Name Hospital School of Nursing. Testing will take place on Saturday mornings, as assigned.

The Nurse Entrance Test (NET) assesses critical reading ability, comprehension, written expression and effective speed required for success in reading college level material, as well as basic science and mathematics skills necessary for academic courses and clinical practice. The test takes approximately 3 ½ hours. CANDIDATES FOR HOLY NAME HOSPITAL SCHOOL OF NURSING WHO DO NOT ACHIEVE THE ACCEPTABLE CRITERIA MAY RETAKE THE NET TEST AFTER A PERIOD OF TWO (2) YEARS.  DURING THIS TIME IT IS STRONGLY ADVISED THAT COLLEGE COURSES BE TAKEN AT A COMMUNITY COLLEGE.

Once we have received your application, we will mail you a registration form with your assigned test date. The registration form and a $45 non-refundable test fee (MONEY ORDER ONLY) must be returned to Holy Name Hospital School of Nursing to guarantee your reservation on the assigned test date.

**NOTE: In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, the School of Nursing will make reasonable accommodations for students with learning disabilities.  Applicants needing special accommodations for testing must submit verifying documentation to the school with their applications for admission.
