Holy Name Medical Center to Offer Pancreatic Disease Update

Date: 1/11/2012

Renowned surgeon will discuss state-of the-art treatments

Teaneck, NJ - Holy Name Medical Center (HNMC) distinguished hepatobiliary surgeon, Jean Emond, MD, will discuss pancreatic cancer and other diseases that can affect the pancreas and liver on Thursday, January 19 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. in the HNMC Marian Hall Conference Center.

Dr. Emond, who also serves as the Vice Chairman and Director of Transplantation at the Columbia University Medical Center of The New York Presbyterian Hospital, will address state-of -the art treatment options that are available at Holy Name.

The pancreas, sometimes called the hidden organ because of its location deep in the abdomen, has been in the news due to the recent deaths of a number of well-known personalities, including Steve Jobs and Patrick Swayze, who succumbed to pancreatic cancer.

"Pancreatic Disease: In the News" is free to the public, but a $5 parking fee will apply. Participants must register in advance for the program by calling HNMC's Ask-a-Nurse at 1-877-HOLY-NAME (1-877-465-9626).
