The Lewin Fund to Fight Women's Cancers® is hosting its 2nd annual Walk for Women’s Cancers on September 12th at 10:30 a.m at Bergen Community College. Event partners are Bergen County Technical Schools and Holy Name Medical Center. Proceeds will be used to fund women’s cancer research.
Senator Paul Sarlo (D-Bergen, Passaic) and Paramus Mayor Richard LaBarbiera will kick off the event, which will feature live music and refreshments. Yoga and Tae Kwon Do sessions will be available to participants when they complete the 5k walk.
“Worldwide, more than one million women are affected by women’s cancers,” said Dr. Sharyn Lewin, executive director of The Lewin Fund and medical director of the division of gynecologic oncology at the Patricia Lynch Cancer Center at Holy Name. “Last year, our first ever Walk for Women’s Cancers raised more than $30,000. We hope to surpass that amount this year, as we continue to provide critical support to women and their families who are impacted by cancer."
Dr. Lewin will participate in the walk and will be onsite afterwards to provide guidance and insights to women in need.
