Holy Name and Columbia University Irving Medical Center Expand Neurosurgical Care through New Partnership

Holy Name, the region’s leading independent health system, today announced a new partnership with Columbia University Irving Medical Center that expands its neurosurgical capabilities, allowing Holy Name to treat a broader range of cerebrovascular conditions and more complex stroke cases. As part of this collaboration, Holy Name recently welcomed Cerebrovascular and Endovascular Neurosurgeon Eleonora Spinazzi, MD, from Columbia to care for patients with common and complex neurological conditions using the latest research, imaging technologies, and minimally invasive treatment options.

"We are thrilled to partner with Holy Name, an organization that embraces innovation to provide high-quality healthcare to its patients," said Dr. Eleonara Spinazzi, Cerebrovascular and Endovascular Neurosurgeon at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. "This collaboration is a great example of how our capabilities and expertise in neurosurgery can support Holy Name in providing even better access to care for patients and set a new standard in the healthcare field."

Holy Name’s specialists take a multidisciplinary approach in providing care for all neurological conditions, from the most common to the very complex. They treat headache, seizure disorders, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke, and other illnesses.

“We are proud of this partnership, as it builds on our award-winning neurosciences program and helps ensure patients have access to the most advanced treatments close to home,” said Vasantha K. Kondamudi, M.D., Chief Medical Officer at Holy Name. “With Dr. Spinazzi’s expertise and the support of Columbia’s renowned medical center, Holy Name is well-positioned to care for patients facing the most challenging neurological conditions."
