Holy Name today announced the appointment of Andrea Hubschmann, MD, MBA, FACOG, as Chair of the Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) department and Associate Program Director of the OB/GYN Residency Program, which will welcome its inaugural class of residents in June 2026. Dr. Hubschmann brings more than 15 years of experience in obstetric and gynecologic care, a proven track record in quality and safety leadership, and a deep commitment to education and the long-term health of the communities she serves.
“Obstetrics and gynecology touch every stage of a woman’s life, and I never want that care to feel rushed, impersonal, or transactional,” said Dr. Hubschmann. “My goal is to build a department where patients feel genuinely seen and heard, where care is tailored to each person’s individual goals, and where safety and excellence are never compromised. That means investing in our people, our processes, and our programs so that every patient receives the very best we have to offer, and so that Holy Name becomes a regional destination for women’s health for generations to come.”
Dr. Hubschmann’s approach to leadership combines clinical excellence with operational discipline. Throughout her career, she has developed and scaled interdisciplinary programs addressing the full spectrum of women’s health — from prenatal care and labor and delivery safety to menopause and midlife wellness. Her experience building cross-department collaboration will benefit Holy Name’s patients and staff by improving patient outcomes, streamlining department operations, and creating an efficient and safer environment. She holds an MBA from the Johns Hopkins Carey School of Business with concentrations in Healthcare Innovation & Technology and Private and Public Sector Leadership, a credential that informs her focus on building sustainable, high-performing clinical teams.
A dedicated mentor and teacher, Dr. Hubschmann has been recognized with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists’ (ACOG) 2024 Mentor of the Year award and the CREOG National Faculty Award for Excellence in Resident Education. In her new role as Associate Program Director, she will help educate and prepare the next generation of OB/GYN physicians at Holy Name.
“We look forward to Dr. Hubschmann serving as department chair and are confident that her priorities will drive the OB/GYN department’s continued success,” said Mike Maron, President and CEO of Holy Name. “Her focus on enhancing patient safety and care quality, improving operational efficiency, strengthening community engagement, and fostering collaboration across the medical center, positions the department for meaningful growth.”
Prior to joining Holy Name, Dr. Hubschmann served as Chair of the OB/GYN department at Summit Health in New Providence, NJ, where she led more than 40 physicians and advanced practice providers across 10 offices. She also chaired the Perinatal Quality and Safety Committee at Overlook Medical Center and served on the Obstetrics Policy Committee for Atlantic Health System.
Dr. Hubschmann earned her Doctor of Medicine from Jefferson Medical College and completed her residency at New York Presbyterian – Weill Cornell Medical Center.
