Holy Name, the region's leading independent health system, today announced that Dr. Judith Pinto has joined its growing physician network, Holy Name Physicians, which comprises approximately 375 providers throughout Northern New Jersey. Additionally, the medical center is pleased to announce Dr. Dennis Pfisterer, Jr., Chief of Orthopedics at Holy Name, has acquired Dr. Mark Hartzband's orthopedic practice following his retirement.
Dr. Judith Pinto is an obstetrician-gynecologist who earned her medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and completed her residency at the University of Connecticut.
Dr. Pinto joins Holy Name as a laborist; an obstetrician dedicated exclusively to the hospital's Labor & Delivery unit, providing around-the-clock care for expectant mothers, managing deliveries, and responding to emergencies—ensuring that every patient receives expert, immediate attention whenever they arrive. Passionate about empowering women, she strives to create a supportive environment where patients feel comfortable asking questions and making informed decisions about their health. Dr. Pinto finds fulfillment in building lasting relationships with her patients and witnessing their journey into parenthood. She is excited about the hospital's plans to hire additional laborists and midwives in 2025.
Dr. Dennis Pfisterer, a leader in orthopedic care, will continue Dr. Hartzband's 30 year legacy of innovation in joint replacement surgery. His practice, Pfisterer Orthopedics, offers the latest nonsurgical and surgical treatment options, such as arthroscopic and endoscopic surgery, minimally invasive surgery and robotic joint replacement surgery, to patients and the community at large.
"We are fortunate to welcome Dr. Pinto to Holy Name where her compassionate and patient-centered approach will be a tremendous asset," said Dr. Vasantha Kondamudi, executive vice president and chief medical officer at Holy Name. "We also celebrate Dr. Hartzband's remarkable career and the impact he has made in the field of orthopedics. His contributions set the standard for excellence, and we wish him a well-deserved retirement."
