One patient’s story of gratitude
Actor JC Montgomery’s Holy Name cardiologist told him he had suffered “the kind of heart attack where one-third of patients don’t make it to the ambulance.” And yet, he’s back on Broadway playing the Sultan in Disney’s Aladdin. Mr. Montgomery knew it was the speed and expertise of his providers’ diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care that saved his life. “Walking back on that stage, I knew I owed those moments to my doctor and the Holy Name team,” he said. “They’re the ones who deserve the ovation.”
Like Mr. Montgomery, many patients hold a very special place in their hearts for their physician or other healthcare professional after experiencing the distinctive brand of care Holy Name is known to deliver. They often look for ways to express their gratitude that go beyond a simple and sincere “thank you.” That’s where the Honored Caregiver Program comes in.
Honored Caregiver Program
The Holy Name Honored Caregiver program provides an opportunity for grateful patients to recognize their own caregivers or those who cared for a loved one with a note of gratitude and a donation to Holy Name in honor of that physician, nurse or other team member.
By contributing to the Honored Caregiver program, you are not only recognizing the gift of exceptional care, but you are helping Holy Name to continue delivering that care through talented professionals in a state-of-the-art environment where humanity is at the heart of every interaction.
Whom should I recognize?
Any member of the Holy Name family can be honored. It could be a caregiver you saw for the first time in the Emergency Department, a trusted and long-time provider of routine care, or a specialist to whom you or a loved one turned during a challenging diagnosis. Every patient’s unique experience with a caregiver tells a story unlike any other. How that healthcare professional effected your life or that of a person close to you, speaks to the meaningful and often dramatic impact of caregivers upon patients’ lives.
How will my caregiver be honored?
Every Honored Caregiver receives a card with your note of gratitude, an acknowledgment letter notifying them of your generous support, and an Honored Caregiver lapel pin. Physicians receive an Honored Physician pin. Worn by the caregiver and visible to everyone throughout the Holy Name health system as a symbol of pride and gratitude, the pin is a very personal reminder of the impact their efforts have upon patients.
